Publishing Woes.

December 09, 2024 Had a few publishing changes, mainly driven by cost. I'm glad I waited to make any final decisions until I took the Self-Publishing workshop at our local university. So-o glad I did. The instructor was fantastic - Terry Armstrong. Amazon is the end result, or I should say Kindle Direct Publishing. Does everything and is simpler than any of the previous self-publishing companies.

I didn't go with Blurb. Though their final product is excellent, they are way too expensive. I tried Ingramspark, and though they made the uploading and verification of the material easier, I held off going with them. No issue really with Ingramspark (very good cost) but Kindle Direct Publishing is so easy and way cheaper. Opened so many doors.

I'm currently waiting for the final review of the e-book version (within 72 hours) and once I receive the proof hard copy of the book from Amazon (next week), I will be in a better position to release the book version as well on Amazon. Far as I know both versions will be available on both Amazon.ca and Amazon.com.

Oh, yes .... I changed the title 3 times. :-)

Painful getting here but we are very pleased we succeeded completing the book and this has opened many creative doors personally for me: publish more stories, establish an illustrative style, create videos to enhance the marketing of the book(s), and maybe even some animation. Exciting.

Love the character line up. So looking forward to adding this publication to the family library!

Congratulations!
